The Joneses – Movie Review

Sometimes it’s hard to be a family.

The Jones family just moved in to this lovely suburban town; they are quick to make friends and are adored by all their neighbors.  But when things start to go awry it’s hard to maintain that ‘perfect family’ fascade.  Staring David Duchovny, Demi Moore, Amber Heard and Ben Hollingsworth.

This movie was really interesting.  It was different than I thought it was going to be.  It wasn’t as funny as I originally anticipated.  I think one critic said “Sharp, timely, funny”… well I wouldn’t say that.  I mean there were funny parts. And there was stuff that was “sharp” whatever that means.  Mostly it was a drama. But not a dramatic drama, which I guess is why it isn’t technically categorized as such.

I liked the movie though.  Good story.  Really fascinating actually. Kind of got to the heart of our culture, in a twisted way.  It wasn’t a movie I’d rush out and buy and watch a million times like “Black Knight” or “Step Up” xD But it was a good movie to watch, enjoy, and discuss.
