Forget You – Jennifer Echols

Book review ^_^

This is the story of a girl, Zoey, who’s life kind of spirals into a darker place.  There are lots of things she wish she could forget; but one thing she is dying to remember! After a party one night she wakes up to realize she can’t remember anything from the night before. Why is bad-boy Doug being so nice to her? And why is Brandon (her boyfriend) avoiding her? Things are bound to get worse before they get better for Zoey Commander.

This was a pretty good novel.  I liked how it was written, and I loved the use of the English language to manipulate the reader into believing the story.  What I didn’t like was Zoey.  Throughout a lot of the novel she just kind of pissed me off; but that was to be expected what with everything happening in her life.  I think that all of her actions were justified, but from a third party perspective so uncalled for!

One of my favorite things about this book was the language actually; it was witty and modern without being… how do I say this… obvious? It wasn’t dumbed down at all, but it still sounded like teenagers (of course they were overacheving honor student teenagers so that probably helped).

There were two characters in the novel pissed me off so much (no not Zoey) that I literally wanted to cry that people could be so ignorant and judgemental; but now I’m divulging too much… better press on.

I had been wanting to read this book for a really long time because of the cover. . I’m a cover judger.  I have a thing for dark haired sexy profilic men what can I say (speaking of I read Ruined for the same reason and it was amazing, so don’t judge me).  I think everyone can relate, in some way, to the things that Zoey goes through in the book; even simply metaphorically.  I enjoyed this book enough to want to read other works by Echols.
