THE DILEMMA

“THE DILEMMA” REVIEW

The Dilemma Poster

THE DILEMMA; A MOVIE ABOUT A MAN WHO DISCOVERS A TERRIBLE SECRET.. HIS BEST FRIENDS WIFE IS CHEATING!! HIS DILEMMA (HENCE THE CLEVER TITLE) IS HOW TO TELL HIS BEST FRIEND WHAT HE SAW; OR IF HE EVEN SHOULD.

THIS MOVIE HAD A LOT MORE GOING ON THAN I ORIGINALLY GAVE IT CREDIT FOR.  CONSIDERING THE TRAILER ALONE WAS LIKE 3 MINUTES LONG (TRAILERS NEED TO BE QUICK AND TOO THE POINT IN MY OPINION) I SHOULD HAVE FIGURED THAT THE MOVIE ITSELF WOULD BE A DECENT LENGTH.  FOR A MOVIE THAT IS CLASSIFIED AS COMEDY IT WAS RATHER LENGTHY (ROUNDING OUT AT APPROXIMATELY 112 MINUTES – THAT’S JUST SHY OF 2 HOURS FOR NON-MATH/THEATRE GEEKS).  THAT BEING SAID THE MOVIE STILL HELD A LOT OF CAPTIVATION.  IT WAS PUNCHY, THERE WAS ACTION, A LOT OF PLOT.  LIKE, SO MUCH PLOT.  THERE WERE TWO SETS OF COUPLES (VINCE VAUGHN AND JENNIFER CONNELLY / KEVIN JAMES AND WYNONA RIDER), EACH COUPLE HAD THEIR OWN DRAMAS THAT THEY WERE TRYING TO RESOLVE AND THEN OF COURSE THERE WAS THE BIG DRAMA OF THE DILEMMA: WYNONA IS CAUGHT CHEATING WITH ZIP (PLAYED BY THE DECLICIOUS CHANNING TATUM).

I THINK TO SUMMARIZE THIS MOVIE EFFECTIVELY I NEED ONLY SAY ONE WORD: BROMANCE.  THIS MOVIE WAS HEAVILY LADEN WITH GUY LOVE BETWEEN BEST FRIENDS.  KEVIN JAMES PLAYED HIS USUAL, GOOFY, KIND OF NEUROTIC SELF WHILE VINCE PLAYED THE MORE LEVEL HEADED, BUT STILL AT TIMES EQUALLY AS CRAZY, KIND OF CHARACTER.   I THINK THE PAIR WORKED WELL TOGETHER.  IT WAS BELIEVABLE THAT THEY WERE BEST FRIENDS HAVING THIS COMMOTION TO WORK THROUGH.

THERE WERE SOME PARTS THAT WERE WAY MORE HYSTERICAL THAN OTHERS.  I THINK CHANNING REALLY PERFORMED WELL (I AM EXTREMELY BIASED SINCE I LOVE EVERYTHING THAT MAN DOES, BUT STILL I THINK IT WAS AN ADEQUATE PERFORMANCE) IN SOME OF THE COMEDIC SEQUENCES; THERE WERE SOME SCENES WHERE I WANTED TO LITERALLY TURN MY HEAD AT THE THINGS GOING ON.  IT WAS A LOT OF FUN.

I SAY IF YOU LIKE THESE KIND OF BROMANCE, “I LOVE YOU MAN” FEEL KIND OF MOVIES, THEN THIS IS A MOVIE YOU WOULD PROBABLY LIKE TO SEE. I DO HOWEVER RECOMMEND SEEING IT IN EITHER A REALLY COMFY THEATRE OR WAITING FOR DVD AND SNUGGLING UP AT HOME BECAUSE THE HOUR FORTY FIVE CAN REALLY HURT THE BUM.

PS. I WROTE THIS POST IN ALL CAPITALS BECAUSE I REALLY FEEL LIKE CAPITALS DON’T GET USED ENOUGH.. IT’S NOT MEANT TO BE YELLING, OR ANGRY, JUST AN EXPRESSION OF LOVE TO THE UPPER CASE LETTERS OF THE WORLD. ALSO, THE BOOK I AM CURRENTLY READING (WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS MOVIE POST) MADE ME THINK ABOUT THE FACT THAT UPPERCASE LETTERS ARE REALLY UNFAIR TO THE MIDDLE OF WORDS, AND I AGREE THAT THAT SHOULD BE CHANGED WHEN IT CAN.  SO TONIGHT, I WRITE IN CAPITALS.

I’M RAMBLING.

THIS IS IT FOR NOW. ❤

This sounds like a good movie, I will wait for DVD though! I loved I love you Man, so I am sure I will like this. I kind of feel that way (about waiting to be comfy at home) with no strings attached cause of the length! Some movie are movie theater movies and some just aren’t!
